While research teams generally start off with a thorough understanding of the methods they intend to use, sometimes they need extensive learning along the way. Carol Shannon, Judy Smith, and Jackie Freeman join us to discuss how they approached applying a mixed methods sequential study design to their assessment project and the adaptations, adjustments, and new skill development acquired. They will offer their views on approaching library research projects with an openness to learning, and will share some of the challenges and successes of their assessment work.
