David A. Andelman is a global affairs columnist for CNN and, most recently, creator of the SubStack page, Andelman Unleashed. He began his career as a correspondent for The New York Times in  SE Asia and Eastern Europe, then served as Paris correspondent for CBS News. He was later an executive editor of Forbes, editor & publisher of World Policy Journal. He is the author of five books, the most recent being A Red Line in the Sand: Diplomacy, Strategy and the History of Wars that Might Still Happen. He served as president of the Overseas Press Club of America, has reported from more than 90 countries on five continents, and is a chevalier of the Légion d’Honneur, France’s highest civilian decoration.
